1.1 Triaxial stress path apparatus for unsaturated soils

- Stress path triaxial tests for saturated soils

Maximum axial load: 7 kN

1.2 Oedometer for unsaturated soils

Functions:

- Consolidation tests for unsaturated soils

- Soil water characteristic curve for unsaturated soils

 

Specimen dimensions: φ= 61.8 mm h = 20 mm

Maximum axial pressure: 2 MPa

Maximum suction: 500 kPa

2.1 Large scale triaxial test apparatus

3.1 Multi-purpose triaxial test apparatus

Functions:

- Stress path triaxial tests

- Dynamic triaxial tests

- Static and dynamic torsional tests

- Simulation of seismic waves

- Vertical and torsional coupled vibration tests

 

Solid cylinder:φ= 61.8 mm / h = 150 mm ,φ= 100 mm / h = 200 mm

Hollow cylinder: φint = 60 mm, φext = 100 mm / h = 150 mm

Maximum axial load: 30 kN

Maximum torque: 50 N-m

Frequency of axial load: 0.01 – 5 Hz



3.2 Resonant Column

Functions:

- Determination of shear modulus and damping ratio

 

Solid cylinder: φ = 50 mm / h = 100 mm, φ = 70 mm / h = 140 mm

Hollow cylinder φint = 30 mm, φext = 70 mm / h=140 mm

Maximum axial load: 5 kN

Maximum cell pressure: 1000 kPa



3.3 Dynamic triaxial test apparatus

Functions:

- Determination of dynamic strength, dynamic modulus and damping ratio

- Identification of soil liquefaction

Specimen dimensions: φ = 39.1 mm / h = 80 mm

Maximum axial force: 1 kN

Maximum cell pressure: 400 kPa

Frequency of axial load: 0.01 – 10 Hz
