Keynote and Invited Lectures

 

Qian JH Lecture

Qian JH Lecture was launched to memorize one of the greatest Chinese geotechnical forerunners, Prof. QIAN Jia-huan (1923-1995). Prof Qian devoted his whole life to research and education on geomechanics and foundation engineering, and made many excellent contributions. He was awarded a number of times for his prominent achievements in fields of soft soil rheological behaviors, dynamic consolidations, earth dams' seismic permanent deformation and numerical analyses. In each Qian JH Lecture, a well-known geotechnical scholar will be invited to deliver the lecture at Hohai University. By now, six scholars have been the lecturers, including Prof. SUN Jun, Dr SHAO Jian-fu, Dr. WANG Lan-min, Prof. Burland, J.B., Prof. Ohta, H and Prof. WANG Meng-shu. In the upcoming GEDMAR08, Prof. Ishihara, K. will deliver Qian JH Lecture.
